Drawing Basics 6pm-8.30pm Wednesdays 5 sessions starting July 6 for Adults
Explore your creativity, experiment with different mediums, and develop your drawing skills in a fun and safe space. Great for beginners or those who want to refresh their skills. Working with charcoal, conte, graphite and pastel, you will learn how to read light, learn perspective and proportion, draw from still- life, and learn the basics of figure drawing.
During the course, you will: -Begin with warm-up exercises with quick sketches -Work with still-life set ups -Develop different techniques using different materials -Learn perspective and proportions -Participate in critiques offering constructive criticism and guidance
*Charcoal and pastel are messy, dress appropriately, some aprons are available.
Required materials:
-Drawing paper pad - choose either 12"x18" or 14"x17" -Newsprint pad - 9"x12" or 12"x18" -Kneaded eraser -Prismacolor Magic Rub eraser or Mars plastic eraser -Blade or pencil sharpener -Graphite pencils, 1 each 2B, 4B and 6B -Charcoal pencils, 1 each medium and soft -Compressed charcoal, soft (2 to 4 sticks) -Vine charcoal, soft (small pack of sticks) -Conté Crayons Match Box Set (Set of 4) -Paper stumps with double pointed ends for blending and/or tortillons for blending -Chamois or old cotton rags -Sandpaper pad for sharpening points on pencils -Ruler or straight edge
